There were caverns along the route discovered in 1927. They held several names over the years including Dinosaur Caverns. They are called Grand Canyon Caverns because when doing a test with a smoke bomb to find out the ventilation flow, the smoke came out at the Grand Canyon - 40 miles away as the crow flies.

Inside the Cavern
The owners think they may need to use it for survival one day. There are enough supplies for 2,000 for several weeks.
You can rent a room in the cavern for the night at $700 a couple. Total darkness and quiet!
