The official start of the Rt. 66 portion of our trip.
The town of Topock doesn't exist anymore. All that is left is the Trails Arch Bridge that carries gass and utility lines across the Colorado River.
Let the journey begin!
The first 'town' we came to was Oatman, once booming with gold miners. It is now a tourist town with shops and restraurants. Althogh the town is known for the wild burros, we didn't see any. Maybe it was because we were there too early in the morning.
